Jamaica Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, broke ground at the site of the new Montego Bay Racquet Club Condominiums and Spa, being developed by Jamaican firm Boria Ltd. The project, at a cost of J$8 billion, includes a six-court tennis and pickle-ball club, spa, two gyms, café, sky lounge, and a swimming pool on the eighth floor, and is focused on health and wellness with a social wellness club. The low-density condominium development is wrapped in 21st century modern technology and aimed at attracting and maintaining a new breed of travelers, including Digital Nomads, high-end senior corporate officials, and other high yielding travelers. Mr. Bartlett states that Jamaica is building out capacity to continue the booming growth in tourism and promotes the inclusiveness of post-COVID tourism by owning, managing, and protecting space and making it safe, secure, and seamless.
