French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain experienced a 13 per cent increase in sponsorship revenue in the 2021-22 season, thanks largely to the presence of Lionel Messi in the championship-winning team.
Speaking to the French national daily L’Equipe, Marc Armstrong, chief partnerships officer at PSG, revealed the seasonal uplift and said the club will “certainly break its historic record for sponsorship revenue” which stood at €295m ($310.7m) from season 2018-19.
