According to Qatar Tourism, international arrivals to Qatar in January and February reached a record-breaking figure of 730,000 visitors, marking an increase of 347% from the previous year. The tourism industry in Qatar continues to maintain momentum from last year’s global tournament, establishing Qatar as a leading tourist destination. The start of the year will have also seen visitors arriving to the peninsula to enjoy the line-up of festivities offered as part of Qatar Tourism’s “Feel Winter in Qatar” campaign, including performances by celebrated regional and international artists, the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition and other family-friendly events. Qatar Tourism’s ‘Feel Winter in Qatar’ included events such as the Qatar Balloon Festival, and Disney Princess – The Concert, which was brought to audiences in partnership with Qatar Airways. The celebrations of Kuwait National Day and Saudi Founding Day led to a significant increase in the number of visitors arriving from both countries. Specifically, there were 86,000 arrivals from Saudi Arabia and 20,000 arrivals from Kuwait. Saudi Arabia stood as Qatar’s biggest contributor, representing 22% of total visitors to Qatar in January and February 2023.
