Saudi Arabia has exceeded its targets in both the energy and tourism sectors. The country’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, has announced that it has exceeded its voluntary oil production cut of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) and has instead cut production by an average of 2.4 million bpd in June. In the tourism sector, the kingdom has also exceeded its target of attracting 100 million visitors annually by 2030, with 12.3 million visitors arriving in 2019. The country has undertaken a range of measures to support the tourism industry, including the introduction of tourist visas and the development of new tourism destinations and infrastructure. These successes come as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, which aims to diversify the country’s economy away from oil and reduce its dependence on the sector.
