Uzbekistan welcomed 7 million tourists in 2023. Over 90% of them belong to the CIS countries. The tourism potential of the country shows the need to expand the geography in the field. For this purpose, the Tourism Committee organized international tourism events “Road Show” in three countries.
Uzbek delegation consists of representatives of the Tourism Committee, the national PR center, more than 25 local tourism companies and other tourist institutions. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia highlighted that the two countries are cooperating well in tourism. In addition, he noted that 26 million tourists from all over the world came to Malaysia in 2023 and noted the need to learn experience in this regard. At the end of the event, national performances of artists were shown to the visitors.
After that, the representative of the tourism committee made a speech and introduced the historical monuments, nature and opportunities created for tourism of Uzbekistan. According to him, the city of Tashkent itself has more than 150 tourist companies, 18 theaters, 30 museums, and 354 objects of cultural heritage. As part of the event, B2B meetings were also organized. The representatives of the delegation had a very sincere conversation with the gathered people, introduced them to the country’s tourism facilities through handouts. For reference, in addition to Malaysia, “Road Show” events are planned to be organized in Singapore and Indonesia.
