A new wellness attraction is set to be developed in Singapore’s Marina South precinct after the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) awarded the project tender to local company T-Harvest. The attraction, slated to open in 2025, aims to enhance Singapore’s appeal as an "urban wellness haven."
The facility will be located on a site at the corner of Marina Gardens Drive and Marina Boulevard, situated near prominent attractions like Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Barrage.
Attraction Features and Concept
The upcoming wellness attraction will feature a variety of amenities, including both hot and cold thermal pools, as well as different types of saunas. It will also incorporate family-friendly elements like water slides. In addition to wellness facilities, the development will house food and beverage outlets.
According to the director of T-Harvest, the attraction’s design will be inspired by nature, with spaces that are "open, airy, and green." The project will integrate natural elements into its environment to create a restorative experience for visitors. A key requirement of the tender was that at least 70 per cent of the attraction’s offerings must be wellness-related.
Strategic Development for Singapore
The development is a key part of the STB’s strategy to diversify Singapore’s tourism offerings and meet the growing global demand for holistic wellness experiences. Yap Chin Siang, Deputy Chief Executive of the STB, stated that the new attraction will be a unique, large-scale wellness destination that adds to the vibrancy of the Marina South precinct.
The tender for the site, which spans approximately 45,000 square metres, was launched in April 2023 and awarded in October 2023. The selection process involved a two-envelope system that evaluated both the concept and the price of the proposal, with a stronger emphasis placed on the quality of the concept.
