Tamil Nadu Tourism showcased its cultural heritage and tourism potential at ITB Asia 2024. The event, which took place from October 25 to 27, 2023, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, served as a platform for the state to engage with global travel professionals.
The Tamil Nadu delegation was led by Dr. Mathiventhan, Minister for Tourism, and Thiru. Sandeep Nanduri, Commissioner & Director of Tourism. Their primary objective was to attract international tourists and strengthen the state’s position as a premier global destination. The state’s booth at the exhibition featured cultural performances, including Bharathanatyam, captivating attendees and highlighting Tamil Nadu’s rich artistic traditions.
Tamil Nadu presented its diverse tourism offerings, which include ancient temples and historical sites for culture and heritage tourism, trekking and wildlife safaris for adventure tourism, traditional healing and modern healthcare facilities for medical and wellness tourism, and extensive coastlines for beach tourism. Additionally, the state promoted its eco-tourism opportunities in the Western Ghats, spiritual pilgrimage sites, unique cuisine, handicrafts, and warm hospitality.
Dr. Mathiventhan emphasized the state’s vision to attract international visitors by showcasing these unique attractions. Thiru. Sandeep Nanduri highlighted the blend of traditional charm and modern appeal, stating that the state is strategically focused on enhancing its infrastructure and promoting sustainable tourism practices. The participation aimed to foster collaborations with industry leaders, secure investments, and further elevate Tamil Nadu’s profile on the international tourism map.
