Airports Company South Africa (Acsa), in collaboration with Etafeni Day Care Centre, has announced the graduation of Acsa’s beneficiaries of the Learn-How-To-Sew Programme.
A graduation ceremony was held at the Etafeni Day Care Centre in Nyanga, Cape Town last week.
Acsa’s beneficiaries are mainly from Freedom Farm, Malawi Camp and Blikkiesdorp informal settlement communities surrounding Cape Town International Airport.
Twenty-four participants completed the programme over six months.
The programme started with Life Skills Training, facilitated by Etafeni Day Care Centre, which helped participants identify and establish personal goals, desires, and expectations.
Following the Life Skills Training, participants delved into the Sewing Skills Training, a National Qualifications Framework Level 1 course spanning 72 days, accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, and the Sector Education and Training Authority.
