NAIROBI, Kenya, March 27 – The men’s 4x400m relay team finished second at the Athletics South Africa (ASA) Grand Prix World Continental Tour at the University of Johannesburg in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
The quartet of Nathaniel Cheruiyot, Kelvin Sane, Brian Tinega and Kelvin Tonui clocked 03:06.85 in second, behind first place finishers South Africa who clocked 03:06.52.
Botswana finished third in 03:07.01.
The same scenario played out in the women’s 4x400m relay where Joan Cherono, Mercy Chebet, Gladys Ngure and Gladys David timed 03:42.97 to finish second.
South African quartet of Shirley Nekhubui, Marli Viljoen, Angelique Strydom and Taylon Bildt clocked 03:38.21 in first place whereas the Botswana team of Refilwe Murangi, Lebitso Mokorofu, Nancy Budzani and Kennekae Batisani finished third in 03:45.15
