Cape Town Tourism (CTT), the official Destination Marketing and Destination Management Organisation for the Mother City, has been granted ZAR3.53m ($250,000) in tourism levy (TOMSA) funding to support SMEs, youth development and business networking projects in the tourism sector in South Africa. The funding, from the Tourism Business Council of South Africa’s (TBCSA’s) collaborative fund, will be used for initiatives to support historically disadvantaged young entrepreneurs to gain a foothold in the industry, and to foster a tourism mindset among young people in schools. The TBCSA is the umbrella organisation representing the unified voice of South Africa’s tourism industry.
