The Greek Embassy in Türkiye has announced that the visa-on-arrival scheme for Turkish tourists has been extended to five additional Greek Islands.
As of April 30, Turkish citizens can visit Leros, Lemnos, Kalymnos, Kastellorizo, and Symi islands with a visa on arrival, in addition to the Chios, Kos, Lesvos, Rhodes, and Samos, VisaGuide.World reports.
This special visa program, which launched on April 1 with five islands, is part of an agreement signed in December 2023 between the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to an earlier report by the SchengenVisaInfo, Greek authorities introduced such a scheme in an effort to terminate the years-long strained ties with Türkiye.
