Danny van Poppel saw victory stripped away Tuesday in stage 3 of the Tour of Turkey after the Dutch sprinter was relegated for an irregular sprint.
The Bora Hansgrohe rider closed down the left side of the sprint for what would have been his first win in 2024, but the race jury ruled he moved too far out of his line. Giovanni Lonardi of Team Polti Kometa, who raised his arms in protest, was awarded the win.
