As of April 30, Turkish citizens can visit five more Greek Islands with a visa on arrival, the Greek Embassy in Türkiye has announced.
The Agean islands that joined the list of express visa scheme are Leros, Lemnos, Kalymnos, Kastellorizo, and Symi, SchengenVisaInfo reports.
Prior to this expansion, the Greek authorities introduced a special visa scheme on April 1, 2024, allowing Turkish citizens to visit Chios, Kos, Lesvos, Rhodes, and Samos islands with a visa-on-arrival.
At a cost of 60€, these visas are valid for stays up to seven days, one entry. As revealed earlier by the authorities, visas on arrival will be issued at the designated port at any season during the year.
Furthermore, authorities have warned that Turkish tourists cannot use these visas to enter other Schengen countries.
This special visa program is part of an agreement signed in December 2023, between the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
