As per the latest development,
China will start allowing visa-free entry for foreign tour groups arriving via cruise ships as part of its ongoing efforts to attract more international visitors and boost its sluggish inbound travel sector. Under the new policy announced by the National Immigration Administration, overseas tour groups arriving on cruise vessels will be granted entry and allowed to stay in China for up to 15 days without a visa. This initiative, effective from May 15, aims to facilitate tourism and foster people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries.
According to Mao Xu, a senior official with the immigration administration, tour groups can disembark at 13 designated ports including Shanghai, Dalin, Qingdao, and Haikou. These groups, organised and managed by domestic travel agencies, will have the opportunity to explore coastal provinces as well as the capital city, Beijing, during their stay in China.
