Experts from real estate firm Savills have stated that villas and condotels are a good investment channel and advised investors to pay attention to project quality. However, the recovery of this segment will depend on the growth of tourism, especially international tourism. Vietnam has seen a 40% year-on-year decrease in international arrivals in the first two months of 2021, mainly from Korea and the US. Domestic and Korean tourists have contributed to the recovery of coastal resorts in Da Nang, with room occupancy exceeding 50%. Hotel room occupancy in Ho Chi Minh City has also been recovering to pre-pandemic levels. The reopening of international borders and lifting of restrictions on travelers by many countries will boost outbound tours and enable resort real estate to reboot in 2021.
