Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism industry is expecting an increase in Chinese tourist arrivals after three years of disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chinese group tours to Vietnam will start on March 15th, and Vietnamese travel companies have begun offering tours to China. The city’s Department of Tourism recently organised a tourism promotion conference in China’s Hunan province to restore tourism between the two countries. Before the pandemic, China ranked third among the sources of international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City, with 1.2 million arrivals in 2019. Vietnam has received 1.8 million foreign tourist arrivals in the first two months of 2023, and the country is expecting to welcome 8 million foreign travelers this year.
