A conference to promote trade and tourism between Vietnam and Australia was held on April 19 in Sydney, drawing a large number of businesses and travel firms from across Australia. Vietnamese Consul General Nguyen Dang Thang highlighted the growing number of tourists travelling between the two countries, with Vietnam welcoming 3.66 million foreign visitors in 2022, and 3 million in the first quarter of this year, 85% of whom arrived by air. Vietnam Airlines, Thien Minh Group and Vinpearl JSC organised the event, and the airline is operating 16 flights between Vietnam and Australia each week. The Hanoi-Melbourne route will be launched from June 15 with two flights per week.
