Remote work is the new normal.
In fact, approximately 42 percent of the American workforce remains fully remote almost a year into the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study conducted in 2020 by Upwork. The study also found that in the next five years, the number of remote workers is expected to be nearly double what it was before the pandemic began — increasing from 16.8 million to 36.2 million people.
