Global travel app that unifies mobility data fro trains, buses, ferries and flights has revealed it’s had a successful year.
The platform attracts 900 million visitors annually, resulting in over 1 billion travel journey searches across more than 10 million unique routes, globally has announced it now sells 80,000 tickets daily via the Omio travel app and desktop, equating to moving a traveller every second of every day.
In part thanks to its growing European inventory and it’s scale up of workforce to now more than 400 employees, has seen the app grow 30% YoY.
Its partnerships with Flix and Ryanair and acceleration of ferries to the fourth travel mode (up 183% YoY) has seen it rise in popularity with travellers.
Omio has now secured a growth capital of $120 million USD from Hercules Capital. This funding will lay the groundwork for expanding into new markets and continents.
