Robert (Bob) A. Houst of West Dennis passed away peacefully at Mass General Hospital at age 72 on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 with his team of physicians nearby and his loving partner at his side. Born in New York City, his family moved to Cape Cod when he was nine years old, and he was a native Cape Codder at heart. He lived in the same home overlooking the Bass River for 64 years and bragged he had one of the oldest assigned PO boxes in the West Dennis post office.
Bob attended Ezra H. Baker Elementary School and Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School, completing his education at Cape Cod Community College. During these teenage years, he helped his family run multiple small businesses including the Halfway Guest house, the Merry Mill, and the A-1 Printing Company, all while supporting the many health issues that befell his brothers and parents. He was a constant rock of stability for his entire family.
