Microsoft has announced enhancements to its Bing chatbot, particularly in the areas of cooking and travel. The improvements include better accuracy in citations and grounding data from recipe content providers, directing users to the providers’ sites rather than Bing.com, and reduced “end-of-conversation triggers” that cause the chatbot to shut down prematurely. Microsoft has been progressively refining the Bing AI in specific categories, including news, maths, and local queries. However, Google’s rival AI, Bard, has begun to receive substantial upgrades, including performance enhancements and a greater range of responses. Google has redirected its staff to concentrate on Bard at the expense of Google Assistant.
