Hexa has raised $20.5m in a series A funding round led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Samurai Incubate, Sarona Partners, and HTC. The platform uses AI and 2D images to create 3D models of products such as furniture and fashion for brands to distribute on websites, social media and in AR applications. The company will use the funding to further expand. Hexa’s clients include Amazon, Macy’s, Unity and Crate & Barrel. The firm created its own proprietary tech stack to digitize products using the existing 2D images in place of photogrammetry or lidar scanning, which it claims are less accurate and more expensive.
