Neos is not a new airline, but if you live in the U.S. it is new to you. And it is relatively new in any case, launched in 2002, giving it one of the youngest airline fleets in the sky, including six latest-generation Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Neos is Italy’s second largest airline after Alitalia, and it just received official approval from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin operating scheduled passenger flights to and from New York. The first trans-Atlantic route will be New York JFK-Milan Malpensa, beginning in the second half of June 2021, with twice-weekly “Covid-Tested” flights.

I have not flown Neos so cannot speak to the experience, but the introduction at this time is especially notable because as Europe reopens to American visitors this summer, the pent-up demand is through the roof and availability of flights will surely be a sticky issue for many would-be vacationers.
