Stay-at-home orders are in place for large parts of NSW including greater Sydney.
The state government has revealed a roadmap out of lockdown for the state and an easing of restrictions for some parts of regional NSW. However, the government says it will manage outbreaks in regional parts of the state with local lockdowns.
Here are the current Covid restrictions in place in New South Wales and ACT.
Which regional areas are in lockdown?
From Tuesday, 5 October, Gunnedah shire went into lockdown until 11 October. The stay-at-home orders will apply to anyone who has been in Gunnedah since 27 September.
From Friday 1 October, Kyogle and Narromine shires went into lockdown until October 11. The stay-at-home orders will apply to anyone who was been in Kyogle since 21 September or the Narromine Shire since 28 September.
Stay-at-home orders are also in place in the following LGAs until 11 October: Bathurst Regional, Bourke, City of Broken Hill, Central Coast, City of Cessnock, Dubbo Regional, Eurobodalla, Goulburn Mulwaree, Kiama, City of Lake Macquarie, City of Lithgow, City of Maitland, City of Newcastle, Port Stephens, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional, City of Shellharbour, City of Shoalhaven, Wingecarribee, Taree, and Forster-Tuncurry.The parts of regional NSW still subject to ongoing stay-at-home orders are listed here. When can you leave home?
From Saturday 11 September, residents in parts of regional NSW deemed “low risk” have been allowed to leave home and enjoy shopping, pubs, clubs and events.
However, for all other parts of the state, including greater Sydney, only outdoor picnics in groups of no larger than five are currently allowed until Monday 11 October.
