Getting double-jabbed opens up your travel options massively – but how do you prove you have had both of your vaccines when jetting off on holiday?
As of July 19, fully-vaccinated Brits can now travel to countries on the amber list without having to worry about isolating once they touch back down at Heathrow Airport.
However, there is only a handful of ways in which you can prove that you’ve had your jabs – and with 10 days of isolation riding on your vaccinated status, it’s important to make sure you’ve got your ducks in line.

What is the NHS Covid Pass and how do I get one?
The NHS Covid pass shows your current Covid status. It’s used to prove whether you’ve had your vaccinations, or can show whether you have tested positive for the virus in the past.
Those that have had coronavirus in the last 180 days, and have completed a period of self-isolation, can use the pass to prove their immunity.
They can be used to gain access to other countries, or to large domestic events like Reading Festival.
You can obtain the pass after receiving one of the following:
- two doses of the Moderna, AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine
- one dose of the Janssen vaccine
- after a positive PCR test result
You can apply for your Covid pass within 24 hours of having your vaccination, but it takes up to five days for your records to be updated.
Most places won’t allow you to enter into the country within two weeks of your second jab, so be sure to check out the rules for your chosen destination ahead of time, so you don’t get caught out.
How can I get my pass?
You can access your pass in one of three ways. The first is by using the NHS App. This isn’t the same as the NHS Covid App, and will only work if you’re registered with a GP in England.
