Workers in the tourism sector are to benefit from the construction of 100 houses in this financial year.
This was announced by Minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett as he opened the Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon.
The housing solutions directed at lower income earners comes as part of efforts by the government to make the sector beneficial and profitable for all Jamaicans and local communities.
The Minister says more housing solutions are on the horizon.
“In addition, 3,000 units are going to be provided by the hotel investors. One of the new ones in Hanover, is 500 units they will have for the workers right there in Green Island. Next door to them, an expansion is going to happen for 600 units again for workers in Hanover.”
