AMMAN— On Sunday, the Parliamentary Committee for
tourism and Antiquities approved a draft amendment to the tourism Law for 2024.
During
the meeting, Committee Chairman Deputy Majdi Al-Yaqoub, alongside Ministers of
tourism and Public Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi, and Legal Affairs, Nancy
Namrouqa, emphasized the law’s primary goal: supporting and encouraging
investment in the tourism sector, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Yaqoub stressed the importance of establishing
regulations governing the licensing process for tourism facilities,
highlighting the necessity of streamlining procedures for investors. He also
underscored the need for a clear pathway for investors to obtain approvals and
licenses, as well as the importance of training municipal personnel and
transferring experiences from the tourism ministry to facilitate interactions
with investors.
