Brazil tourism enjoyed a banner year in 2024, with international tourism revenue reaching record levels.
The Central Bank announced that foreign travelers spent a record US$ 7.3 billion in Brazilian destinations.
That is 6% up on the previous record last year.
President of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, hailed the result: “Our strategy to attract international tourists is paying off, the Lula government is transforming into reality all the potential that Brazil has always had.”
“More tourists are arriving and with a higher consumption profile, which is reflected in this record result, much higher than expected”, he said.
