Brazilian tourism continues to grow at a fast pace. The sector registered a 7,3% increase in February 2025, compared to the same period in the previous year, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). This was the ninth consecutive positive result for the month, driven mainly by the increase in revenue of companies in the passenger air transport, travel agencies and car rental segments.
The impressive performance reflects the consolidation of the sector’s recovery, which also showed growth from January to February (2,9%), after a 6,1% decline in the first month of the year. As a result, national tourism is operating 9,7% above the pre-pandemic level (February 2020).
