N829AN, the aircraft involved in the emergency, is a 6.7 year old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that was delivered to AA in August 2017.
Furthermore, of the 787-9 variant, the airline has 22 of them in the fleet.
Of that 22, all but one are in active service.
Average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 6.5 years.

The American Airlines website states that the aircraft will be departing from Keflavik and continuing on to Chicago in the next hour and 50 minutes.

AA91 has appeared to have parked on a remote stand to the east of the airport.
Still awaiting official confirmation on the cause of the emergency.
If it departs at 6:55pm Zulu, then it is definitely a passenger-related incident.
Furthermore, if the aircraft is grounded, then there will be some form of technical issue wrong with the plane.
