Two British Airways (BA) cabin crew members, Holly Walton and Lauren Bray, were dismissed on Monday for posting a video that mocked Asian passengers.
The video, filmed between flights while the two were drinking at a hotel in Antigua, showed Walton making slant-eyed gestures and using a Chinese accent to say: “Give me wine.”
It was then widely shared on TikTok, prompting outrage from other BA staff.
“This recording is obscene. For anyone to have such racist thoughts, to then film them and share it with the world, is shocking and dumb in equal measure,” a BA crew member told The Sun.

“This is hugely damaging for the airline and they deserved the axe.”

Holly Walton recorded the footage with Lauren Bray.
The pair had served passengers on flight BA2157 from Gatwick earlier. Colleagues stated they were mocking a Chinese family who struggled with English while ordering drinks on that busy holiday flight.
“I’m reeling from seeing this video. It makes me question the airline and my colleagues,” an Asia-born BA worker said.

“Action has to be taken. We won’t stand for it.” Another employee stated, “These two women were deliberately laughing at a family who struggled to make themselves understood.
“This sends the worst message possible. BA cannot employ anyone with a hint of racism.”
Airline executives acted swiftly upon learning of the recording. Walton was instructed to fly home from Cancun as a passenger to face an inquiry.
On Monday, Bray was seen leaving a meeting at BA headquarters in tears after their terminations.

An airline spokesperson said: “All forms of racism are completely unacceptable, and we take allegations of this nature very seriously.
“These two individuals are no longer employed by us.”
BA managers are reportedly furious about the latest incident having written letters to crew members only last year to warn them about their social media posts.
