Delhi-Gurgaon travel exhausts you to the core! Well, the day is not far when you’ll be able to cover the distance in just 7 minutes. Reportedly, IndiGo’s parent firm InterGlobe has joined hands with Archer Aviation to launch an all-electric air taxi service in India in 2026. This service will carry passengers from Connaught Place CP to Gurugram in seven minutes. As per several media reports, Archer Aviation will be supplying 200 electric vertical takeoffs and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. A single aircraft can carry four passengers besides the pilot. The aircraft functions just like a helicopter with much less noise and better safety measures. As a part of the joint venture, InterGlobe and Archer Aviation will launch similar taxi services in Mumbai and Bengaluru besides Delhi.

As the name suggests, electric air taxis promise several advantages over traditional modes of transport in the region of Delhi and Gurugram. It will reduce the noise levels, provide enhanced safety features for the passengers, deliver comfort and give a secure and faster travel. According to the Archer Aviation Executives estimates, the commute from Connaught Place to Gurugram in Haryana could range from Rs 2,000 to 3,000.

Certification process and plans
Reportedly, Adam Goldstein, CEO and Founder of Archer Aviation has confirmed that the electric air taxis will be certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration. Also, the company will seek approval from the Indian aviation regulator, DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
