The CEO of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed Al Meer on Wednesday said that to reduce the delivery time of new aircrafts, planemakers Airbus and Boeing need to put more pressure on their suppliers. He said that the delay in aircrafts’ delivery is hindering airlines’ ability to meet travel demand, reported Reuters.
While speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, Meer said, “We are really trying our best to assist both Boeing and Airbus and try to find solutions for them to make sure they deliver.”

Qatar Airways, according to Meer, is facing difficulties in satisfying the heightened demand for travel post-COVID, primarily due to the scarcity of new aircraft.

From engines and seatbelts to wiring and screws, an aircraft requires lakhs of components sourced from suppliers across the world, rendering them susceptible to disruptions in the supply chain.
