A six-year-old girl was burned and ‘disfigured’ by a hot meal served on a United Airlines flight, her parents claim.
An Israeli couple, Michal and Ben Fefferman, say that they were flying with their daughter from Tel Aviv to Newark, New Jersey, when a flight attendant handed the mother a meal tray.
They alleged that the tray table in front of their daughter, identified only as ‘O.F.’, malfunctioned and allowed the hot meal to slide off and onto her lap.
‘Although the meal tray should have provided a level surface so that food and/or drinks like the meal tray at issue could be placed on them safely, this particular tray table was defective, slanting downward toward the seat where O.F. sat,’ states their lawsuit against United Airlines.
