United Airlines has stated that its environmental goals hinge on corporate clients’ buy-in. The airline aims to lead the development of sustainable aviation and claims it has invested in the future production of over 3 billion gallons of sustainable aviation fuel, more than any other airline in the world. It plans to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 without the use of carbon offsets. The airline recently added the ability for customers to purchase carbon offsets during the booking process. However, the airline’s aspirations require the support of corporate clients that make up a significant proportion of its revenue.
