New Hotels Launch: The Okura Tokyo, Brij Sone Bagh

The Okura Tokyo is set to reopen in September 2019 following a rebranding of the former Hotel Okura Tokyo, located adjacent to the US Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. The new complex will feature two distinct buildings: The Okura Heritage Wing, standing 17 stories tall with 140 rooms, and The Okura Prestige Tower, which will be 41 stories high and house 368 rooms. The combined property will offer a total of 508 guest rooms.

Designed to blend tradition and innovation, The Okura Tokyo’s exterior was planned by Yoshihisa Taniguchi, the son of the designer of the original main building. The design team also includes architect Toru Aga and designers Kengo Kuma and Akira Kajima. The hotel will provide five restaurants, two bars including the reinstated Orchid Bar, the Okura Museum of Art, a fitness centre and swimming pool, a tea ceremony room, and multiple banquet rooms.

Luxury Wildlife Lodge Debuts in India

Brij Sone Bagh, a luxury wildlife lodge from Brij Hotels, is scheduled to open in December 2019 in Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh, India. This new property will feature seven standalone villas, each equipped with a private plunge pool. The lodge is designed to offer guests a comprehensive nature experience, including safaris into Bandhavgarh National Park for tiger spotting, birdwatching, and village walks. Facilities at Brij Sone Bagh will include a main lodge, an infinity pool, and a spa, aiming to immerse guests in the surrounding wilderness. Udit Kumar, co-founder of Brij Hotels, expressed the brand’s commitment to creating unique guest experiences that connect them with nature and local culture.

Fullerton Brand Expands to Hong Kong

The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong, the first resort hotel for The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts brand and its first property in Hong Kong, is slated for an expected opening in 2021. Located within Ocean Park, the hotel is part of the broader Water World development by Ocean Park Corporation. The resort will feature 425 rooms, all offering ocean views. Guests will have access to four restaurants and bars, an infinity pool, a kids’ lagoon, a gymnasium, and a spa. Additionally, the hotel will include a grand ballroom and various function rooms for events. The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong is owned by Pavilia Hospitality Management and will be managed by The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts.
