Indian online travel company MakeMyTrip has announced plans to expand its franchise business in over 100 cities of the country, with the aim of growing its franchise network by over 50% by the end of the year. The move comes as India plans to add another 80 airports in the next three years, with a push towards modernising the aviation market in tier 2 and beyond cities. MakeMyTrip has built a proprietary tool called MMTOne, which helps sellers create itineraries within seven minutes based on customer queries, while the company’s e-learning management system ILearn provides sales teams with customised content repository on-platform certification. The platform is also developing an omnichannel strategy to increase its penetration in the holiday packages market, including women-only team of holiday experts for customer assistance.
