Indian travel company MakeMyTrip and their creative agency Enormous have launched a campaign to invite Pakistani cricket fans to India, offering them discounts if Pakistan’s team loses against India. The campaign aims to bridge the gap between the two countries and strengthen bonds through a fun and playful approach. The campaign includes clever coupon codes and a humorous visual element. In an interview, Ankit Pathak, Creative Director at Enormous, explains the idea behind the campaign and why they chose print as the medium. Pathak mentions that they wanted the campaign to go viral and they have been receiving positive feedback and messages from fans. The campaign was initially a part of MakeMyTrip’s “Tested by Fans” campaign, which aims to bring international superfans to test their homestays and villas. Pathak says that they wanted to take the idea further and create something that Indian fans would love and share. The campaign invites Pakistani fans to forget the rivalry and offers them discounts on homestays in India, aiming to create better bonds between the two countries. Pathak also mentions that the campaign uses phrases and conversations commonly seen during pre-match discussions between India and Pakistan to add a fun and cheeky take on the rivalry. The campaign includes a visual of the Pakistan team breaking TV sets. Pathak explains that they chose print as the medium because they believe it is a great way to share ideas and memes, similar to social media. They wanted to have fun with print and create a quick and easily shareable visual with written words. The Enormous team that worked on the campaign includes Ashish Khazanchi, Daksh Haria, Swapnil Vinerkar, Abhijeet Patil, Praveen Kamble, Neha Singh, Rahul Parbate, and K Sanjeevi Rajan.
