Irish hotel named ‘One of a Kind’ by Tripadvisor

Ashford Castle in Cong, Co. Mayo, has been named as one of the most unique hotels in the world by Tripadvisor.

The travel platform has revealed the winners of its annual Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Hotels, spotlighting this year’s top-rated hotels worldwide as identified through the website’s reviews.

This year, TripAdvisor introduced an exciting new award subcategory showcasing the most unique, One-of-a-Kind hotels across the globe. According to the travel website, the “offbeat stays” on the list are “unlike anything else out there.”

Ashford Castle ranked second in the new category, following the top winner of the list, Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, India,

Tripadvisor praised the Irish castle hotel for “its stately canopy beds, manicured grounds, and slew of regal activities (think: falconry, archery).”

It also highlights the accommodations as being “kid-friendly.”
