TripAdvisor has reportedly made 150 staff members across the US, Europe, and Canada redundant after falling short of its financial targets.
Around 75 of those fired were said to be full-time staff with the rest being contractors. Sister brands Viator and TheFork have not been impacted.
Tripadvisor President Kristen Dalton is said to have announced the layoffs in a company meeting held in the US yesterday.
“The layoffs were management heavy,” one source told Skift. Dalton reportedly said that TripAdvisor needs to have a laser focus on strategy.
The redundancies have occurred just six months since TripAdvisor laid off 125 staff to save around US$35 million ($56 million) in annual costs.
In an SEC filing from December, Tripadvisor announced its intention to buy parent company Liberty Tripadvisor Holdings for around US$435 million (A$696 million).
