This Thursday, 08/02, on the eve of Carnival, the SKY airline signed a partnership agreement with Embratur – Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of International Tourism – to promote the arrival of international tourists to Brazil. This will further boost SKY’s growth in the country. In 2023, the airline carried more than 475.000 passengers, and this year that number is expected to exceed 800.000.
The signing of the agreement took place at Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão), in Rio de Janeiro, where passengers on a SKY flight from Santiago de Chile were welcomed with dance, culture and typical cuisine. The ceremony was attended by Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur; Celso Sabino, Minister of Tourism; Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports; Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro; Alexandre Monteiro, CEO of Galeão-Rio de Janeiro Airport, and Carmen Gloria Serrat, Commercial Director of SKY Airline.
With the signing of this agreement, SKY seals a cooperation alliance with Embratur, which will facilitate joint work to improve connectivity between Brazil and different destinations in Latin America, through the promotion of Brazilian destinations and the expansion of the flight network For the country.
After excellent results for Brazilian international tourism in 2023, SKY also expects great success in the first quarter of this year, planning to transport more than 200 thousand passengers between Brazil and Chile, Peru and Uruguay. And for the winter there should be an important exchange of tourists, with the beginning of its new routes Brasília-Santiago and Belo Horizonte-Santiago, in addition to traffic between São Paulo and Lima, the latter city being an important connection point with destinations in SKY in the Caribbean and North America.
