Cambodia’s Tourism Minister Thong Khon has said that China’s COVID-19 strategy optimisation and resumption of outbound group tours earlier this year will give a boost to Cambodia’s economy and tourism, with the country expected to attract four million international tourists in 2023. According to the Asian Development Bank, Cambodia’s economy is anticipated to grow by 5.5% in 2023 and 6% in 2024, with a more robust tourism recovery and higher growth in the service sector. The economy is currently dependent on tourism, garment, footwear and travel goods exports, construction and real estate, and agriculture.
