The Hong Kong Tourism Board announced on Monday that they will hold a maritime fireworks show opposite Victoria Harbour, with the Immigration Department anticipating about six million tourists throughout the holidays.
According to the announcement made today by the board, the fireworks show will begin at 8 pm on May 1 at Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade Gardens and last about 10 minutes, with the fireworks being released from a barge 130 meters offshore.
The entire performance will mainly be in gold, displaying giant “HK” characters and happy smiley faces.
The fireworks will be combined with the “Symphony of Lights” show to provide a dual-vision effect.
The Immigration Department (ImmD) estimated that there will be around 5.9 million people entering and leaving Hong Kong throughout the long holidays, with May 1 expecting the maximum number of tourists at around one million.
