Union tourism minister Prahlad Patel on Thursday said the violence and clashes that took place at the Red Fort during the farmers’ tractor parade on Republic Day has caused much damaged to the heritage monument. Prahlad Patel said some of the structures on a minar are missing.
In a report, NDTV said the tourism ministry and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) have submitted a report detailing the damage and loss suffered at Red Fort during the clashes.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the minister said he visited the Red Fort and asked officials of ASI and the tourism ministry to submit a report on the damage suffered. He added that he has also instructed officials to register a police case.
