The Banaras Hindu University’s faculty of Ayurveda has announced that they will sign a memorandum of understanding with South Korea to promote Ayurvedic medicine and wellness tourism in the East Asian country. A delegation from South Korea recently visited the faculty to discuss collaboration between traditional Korean medicine and Ayurvedic medicine in view of the growing global interest in Ayurveda and its related products and services. Professor KN Dwivedi, the dean of the faculty of Ayurveda stated that through the International Collaboration Centre, BHU, they have started the process for coordination in research on traditional Korean medicine and Ayurvedic medicine with South Korea. The professor revealed that South Korean delegates have invited him and Professor Vaidya Sushil Kumar Dubey to participate in the International Hi Wellness Experience Festa 2023, scheduled to be held in Gyeongsangbuk. Professor Dubey highlighted the benefits of Ayurveda and plans to talk about basic herbs and shrubs such as Ashwagandha and lemon grass, which are very useful in maintaining strong immunity. He also encouraged South Koreans to visit India for Ayurvedic treatment as a way of promoting wellness tourism.
