On January 10, 2023, BitMart, a global digital assets trading platform, announced its compliance with the travel rule regulations recommended by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) by connecting with CODE (Connect Digital Exchanges). CODE is a travel rule solution jointly adopted by three major crypto exchanges in South Korea, which requires all cryptocurrency exchanges in the country to implement proper travel rule solutions in accordance with the Special Financial Transaction Information Act revised in March 2022. The travel rule sets a global standard for virtual asset service providers (VASPs) to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, and requires exchanges to disclose cryptocurrency transactions involving 1 million Korean won and above. BitMart’s CEO, Sheldon Xia, stated that the company is committed to advancing the blockchain industry and complying with regulatory obligations to be a secure exchange, and hopes to provide users with secure, transparent, and professional cryptocurrency services. BitMart offers over 1,000 trading pairs with some of the lowest trading fees in the industry, and can be accessed through their website, Twitter, Telegram, and app.
