Nepal and South Korea have identified tourism as an area of potential cooperation and agreed to explore the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding to promote tourism. The two nations also discussed promoting cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, employment, energy, technology transfer, education, culture and people-to-people relations. The Nepali side requested permission for its airlines to operate direct flights to Seoul, and both delegations agreed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations by organizing various events, including high-level visits in 2024. South Korea agreed to encourage its business community to invest in Nepal’s hydropower sector and expand the number of quotas provided to Nepalese workers.
