The Hansan Ramie Fabric Cultural Festival, which celebrates the traditional weaving technique of ramie fabric, listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be held in Seocheon from June 9-11, where visitors can experience weaving traditional Korean natural fibers and trying on mosi clothing. The Hueree Hydrangea Festival, located on Jeju Island, will continue through June 3 in the Hueree Natural Park near South Korea’s highest peak, offering visitors the chance to stroll through colorful hydrangea fields and options to participate in horseback riding or a parade of Jeju black pigs. Hadong Wild Tea Cultural Festival, which started May 4, runs through June 4, promoting the cultivation of tea, which began in Korea approximately 1,000 years ago in Hadong county. Visitors can experience various exhibitions and hands-on programs. The Miryang Arirang Festival, celebrating the Miryang version of “Arirang,” a national folk song that was listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2012, runs from May 18-21. The festival’s highlight is “Miryang River Odyssey,” a musical that intertwines the story of the Miryang Arirang and the history of Miryang. The Pinnacle Land Spring Flower Festival, located in Asan, presents some 50,000 tulips and narcissus plants, allowing visitors to enjoy a colorful and fragrant spring atmosphere. The festival’s second edition also features a fireworks display on Saturdays.
