Mongolia and South Korea have agreed to work together to promote tourism in both countries. The Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia met with representatives of tourism organizations of the Republic of Korea during the Kopist 2024 conference in South Korea, where they agreed on several initiatives to boost tourism. South Korea will promote the history and culture of Mongolia during the 2024 Winter Olympics by hosting a “Welcome to Mongolia” event. Mongolia will also introduce its culture and heritage through a presentation of national art during the same conference. A joint international tourism forum between Mongolia and South Korea will be held in Ulaanbaatar in September 2021, and efforts will be made to restore pre-pandemic entry and exit flexibility for transit flights.
