South Korea is home to a number of unique festivals filled with customs, activities and experiences that are unique to the region. One festival that takes place in North Chungcheong Province is the Eumseong Pumba Festival that is rooted in the tradition of beggars going around marketplaces, and the performers at this event will also sing beggar songs. Other festivals include the Gochang Green Barley Field Festival that celebrates the region’s plentiful barley, the Damyang Bamboo Festival that takes place in the natural bamboo forest and the Boseong Aromatic Tea Festival that allows visitors to take part in tea leaf picking, tea tastings and tea ceremonies. The 35th Icheon Ceramics Festival is also taking place in Yes Park in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, where visitors can learn about the history of Korean ceramics and enjoy hands-on experiences. All of these festivals offer something for visitors of all ages.
